About the Journal
Macrohistoria is an independent digital academic journal of Social Sciences, which emerged as an initiative of Macrohistoria y Mundo Actual and was consolidated in 2020 as an international institution aimed at the study and dissemination of the macrohistory of Latin America. This journal was founded in 2021 and is edited and sponsored by Mhyma spa.
The journal's purpose is to disseminate historical reflections and research focused on the understanding of global transformation processes from a Latin American perspective, privileging approaches that address the phenomena at broad, temporal, or geographical scales; likewise, it aims to be a means for intellectual exchange and the strengthening of academic networks within the region.
The journal adheres to FAIR principles and best practices, so all published articles have persistent identifiers (doi). Macrohistoria does not charge publication or management fees to authors, and allows free, open, and immediate access to all its content. Macrohistoria is published biannually and its contents are original unpublished articles of up to 8,000 words, preferably written in Spanish although texts in Portuguese and English are considered.
To ensure standards of quality, all materials undergo a pre-selection process by the editorial team of Macrohistoria, which reviews their relevance in relation to the editorial standards of the journal, as well as compliance with the rules of publication and plagiarism and self-plagiarism policies, for which all submissions are submitted to the iThenticate software before advancing to further evaluation processes. In the second stage, the articles are submitted for peer review under the double-blind system.
The final decision on the publication or rejection of submitted articles is made by the Editorial Board, taking into account the blind peer review process.
